The following post is going to feature everything you can possibly do with Tin in Valheim. Tin is one of the first metals you will come across when playing Valheim. There may not seem like a great deal of great things that tin can do at first, but it will be very important to the late game.
The following list will include every item recipe that includes tin and what they are used for. As the game is currently in early access, the information found in this list is subject to change. If the information in the game does change every effort will be made to update this list. Lets get started.
How to Create Tin
In order to get the workable metal known as tin, the player is going to have to travel to the black forest and get some tin ore. Tin ore can be collected with the pickaxe that the player crafts after defeating Eikthyr. After getting a pickaxe, the player should head to the black forest and check the coastline for bright, reflective small rocks as seen in the image below. These rocks can be mined in order to receive tin ore.
Processing the Tin
After exploring a few of the burial crypts in the black forest, the player should have found a few surtling cores. These can then be used to craft the smelter, which combines coal and a metal ore in order to create metal that can be used in crafting. Check out this guide on how to craft and use smelters.
A List of All Tin Crafting Recipes in Valheim
Here is the full list of every item the player can currently create using tin. Keep in mind that all of the weapons and armor that you can craft at this stage are all made from Bronze. Although tin is one of the items that creates bronze, technically the weapons are made from bronze so they didn’t make it on to this list.
Bronze
By combining 2 units of copper and 1 unit of tin over at the forge, the player will be able to create bronze. Creating bronze will unlock a whole new host of different weapons and armors to craft. Although tin on its own doesn’t seem like it can craft too many things, bronze remains very important for tools, armors, weapons and also many different furnitures.
Cauldron
One of the single most important crafting stations you can create in Valheim is the cauldron. At the cauldron you can create all of your more advanced meals. Along with creating different meals ready to be eaten, the player can also craft mead base that when put into a fermenter and left to ferment, will create meads with great bonuses. Some of the bonuses created from mead are poison resistant, a simple health boost or even frost resistance. The cauldron is a must have and like the cooking station, requires a lit fire to use.
Placing the cauldron requires a nearby forge of any quality level.
