If you are wondering how to keep your bonedog fed in Kenshi then look to further than this short guide. To feed your dog, simply put some type of food item in one of your characters’ backpacks. Then, move the dog near the character with the food. Once they are hungry enough they will automatically eat the food. If you don’t have a backpack, you can drag the food onto the ground and the bonedog will eat directly from the ground. Bonedogs can also eat corpses from dead enemies. If the bonedog gets hungry and you are near a corpse, they will automatically walk over to the body and eat a part off to sate their hunger.

What can bonedogs eat?
Along with being able to eat any type of food a person can in Kenshi, bonedogs can also eat corpses of enemies. Bonedogs also benefit from being able to spoiled and rotten meat, whereas human character cannot.
Different ways to feed the dog in Kenshi
As stated above there a few different ways to feed a dog in Kenshi. This methods also applies to feeding all animals in Kenshi, although not all of them can eat body parts.
Put food items in the backpack
You can drag and drop food from any container or inventory into a backpack. Once the food is in the backpack, your bonedog will automatically eat the food when it grows hungry.
Put food on the ground
If you drag an item out of the inventory screen you can throw it onto the ground. If the bonedog is hungry they will automatically eat the food on the ground until their hunger is sated.
Recycle people
Bonedogs will automatically eat fresh bodies on the ground as long as they are actually dead and not just unconscious. This is a great method as you don’t have to pay anything to feed the dog and death is everywhere in Kenshi!
Keep them fed, keep them strong!
The hunger level is a very important part of staying alive in Kenshi. If your character, or in this case animal is hungry, their stat levels will have a negative multiplier. Depending on how hungry they are, this multiplier will get worse and worse. You can imagine that you want to keep those stats as high as possible, so you can keep winning fights and staying alive in Kenshi. This works exactly the same for dogs in Kenshi and in fact, Bonedogs get hungrier faster than any other humanoid race in Kenshi!
